Introduction

The Northern Metropolis comprises nine New Development Areas (NDAs), including Kwu Tung North/Fanling North, Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen, Yuen Long South, San Tin Technopole and the Loop, Ngau Tam Mei, Lau Fau Shan, Ta Kwu Ling, Ma Tso Lung and Au Tau. Among these, construction works have already commenced at the NDAs of Kwu Tung North/Fanling North, Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen, Yuen Long South and San Tin Technopole and the Loop, covering a total of approximately 800 hectares of land. Site formation and infrastructure works for the Ngau Tam Mei NDA are scheduled to progressively commence in 2027, while statutory planning and related procedures for the NDAs of Lau Fau Shan, Priority Development Area of Ta Kwu Ling, Au Tau, and part of Ma Tso Lung are planned to begin progressively from late 2026.
