Abstract
Landscaping the environment is a major policy of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Under the Landslip Preventive Measures (LPM) Programme, the Geotechnical Engineering Office of the Civil Engineering and Development Department will landscape all upgraded man-made features. During the upgrading works for 24 man-made slopes and retaining walls carried out between 2001 and 2004 in South Lantau, the GEO made a lot of effort to ensure that they blended in well with the surrounding environment. This photo album records the outcome of GEO's effort on landscaping the environment.
