Tsim Sha Tsui

The GMP for Tsim Sha Tsui proposes an overarching theme of "Jade Necklace" by linking up major greened areas including the Kowloon Park, ex-Marine Police Headquarters, open space surrounding the Cultural Centre, Middle Road Children's Playground, Tsim Sha Tsui East Promenade and the Centenary Garden. This green route seeks to provide pedestrian and visitors with a relaxing and comfortable traveling experience. At locations falling outside this route, greening measures are suggested to amplify local characteristics.

To reflect Central's role as the financial centre of Hong Kong, the GMP for Central adopts 'Heart of Gold' as the theme, which is realized through plants with golden, yellow, orange or red flowers and foliage (e.g. Hibiscus tiliaceus, Plumeria rubra and Peltophorum pterocarpum), supplemented by trees with a large crown (e.g. Ficus microcarpa and Cinnamomum camphora) to enhance the greening effect and to provide shade to pedestrians.
