Tung Chung New Town Extension - Infrastructure Works at Ying Hei Road and Tung Chung Waterfront Road

The Civil Engineering and Development Department signed a contract of about HK$634 million in May 2026 with Richwell Engineering - Wang Kee Civil Joint Venture for carrying out infrastructure works under the Tung Chung New Town Extension project.

The works mainly include:

• construction of covered four-span footbridge systems at the junction of Tung Chung Waterfront Road and Yi Tung Road and the junction of Ying Hei Road and Ying Tung Road, covered staircases and lifts;
• construction of noise barriers on a section of Ying Hei Road and Tung Chung Waterfront Road;
• construction of low-noise road surfacing on a section of Ying Hei Road and Tung Chung Waterfront Road;
• construction of cycle tracks near Tung Chung Development Pier; and
• ancillary works including landscaping, drainage, street lighting and utilities works, as well as installation of street furniture and traffic aids.

The works commenced on 11 May 2026 for completion in 2029.
