Brief Description of Project Scope:

The scope of this project comprises construction of:

  1. A gathering place at the entrance to the proposed mountain bike trails (MBTs) at Mui Wo Ferry Pier Road;
  2. A training ground near Lai Chi Yuen Tsuen with supporting facilities
  3. New MBTs from the proposed Mui Wo gathering place to the proposed training ground, and joining the existing Chi Ma Wan MBTs to form a loop network; and
  4. Associated landscape and ancillary works.


Status:

Construction is in progress.

Current Progress:

Advance preparation works had been completed. The main works contract of 12-month duration also commenced in November 2017 for completion by end 2018.


Impact on Trees:

Based on the consultants’ assessment, there are about 4,700 trees within the project boundary. Among them, we will preserve about 3,450 and remove about 1,250 trees. We will incorporate planting proposals as part of the project, including planting of about 2,500 trees as compensation.
