Tseung Kwan O - Lam Tin Tunnel awarded Merit of the "HKIE Geotechnical Project Excellence Award 2023" under Tunnels and Caverns Category

The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers Geotechnical Project Excellence Award aims at recognising excellence in geotechnical engineering of slope works, tunnel & cavern works and ground engineering works carrying out in the territory. Tseung Kwan O – Lam Tin Tunnel is the first engineering project in HK using drill and blast method for the main tunnel, and also the first tunnel with part of its ventilation building being constructed in a cavern, leading to a significant reduction in the slope cutting area. The project team was honored to receive Merit Award in The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers Geotechnical Project Excellence Award 2023 (Tunnels and Caverns Category).
