Tseung Kwan O Promenade Southern Bridge received Silver Award of the "Hong Kong Institution of Engineers Design for Safety Excellence Award 2025"

Tseung Kwan O Promenade Southern Bridge has earned the Design for Safety Excellence Award 2025-Silver Award, highlighting its impressive achievements in safety design and innovation. Key to this success were innovations like extensive offsite prefabrication and the use of Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA). These approaches greatly reduced on-site risks by minimizing marine operations and streamlining construction, which improved overall site safety. The project also used high-strength S690QL steel, allowing for smaller member sizes and safer lifting during installation. The Southern Bridge maintained an outstanding safety record, achieving zero accidents throughout its prefabrication and installation phases.
