Tseung Kwan O Promenade Southern Bridge received Grand Award of the "Structural Excellence Award 2025" under Infrastructures & Footbridges (Hong Kong)

The Tseung Kwan O Promenade Southern Bridge has been awarded the prestigious Structural Excellence Award 2025 – Grand Award for Infrastructures & Footbridges in Hong Kong. This recognition highlights the bridge's innovative design and construction methods. The bridge uniquely designed with a wave theme, which not only provides aesthetic appeal but also enhances structural continuity, improving resistance to twisting. The use of Grade S690QL high-strength structural steel allowed for reduced member sizes, minimizing weight and contributing to cost savings and sustainability. Innovative construction techniques were pivotal to the project, including extensive off-site prefabrication, which enhanced quality and safety while reducing environmental impact. A unique "stepping over" method was employed during installation to navigate logistical challenges, ensuring the bridge was safely positioned without risk to adjacent structures.
