Date of Award: 25/11/2024
The Cross Bay Link has won the Most Popular Infrastructure Projects in Hong Kong over the Past Quarter Century Competition, based on a public vote organized by the ICE Hong Kong Association (HKA). Nearly 4,000 votes were cast in the competition, with the CBL receiving 1,489 votes among eight shortlisted projects. As Hong Kong's first marine viaduct featuring a footway and a cycle track, the CBL encourages sustainable non-vehicular travel and enhances community well-being. Its design connects to the TKO promenade, creating a scenic 5-kilometer waterfront loop, along with a green plantation strip that adds to the area's beauty and environmental appeal. The CBL functions not only as a key transportation link but also as a leisure space and an iconic landmark, drawing attention on social media and boosting tourism in the region. This recognition underscores the CBL's important role in enhancing Hong Kong's infrastructure and community life.
