Cross Bay Link, Tseung Kwan O received Gold Award of the "Asia-Pacific Design for Safety Award Competition 2024"

The Asia-Pacific Design for Safety Award Competition promotes safety in the construction industry through innovative approaches across various domains, including research initiatives focusing on safety in the construction industry, architectural and engineering projects that integrate safety considerations and development and application of new or improved safety products that can be used in construction settings. The main span of the Tseung Kwan O Cross Bay Link adopted S690QL high-strength structural steel as the steel arch material, reducing the weight of the bridge's steel components, saving costs, and minimizing the need for additional processes. At the same time, off-site prefabrication has been extensively adopted, covering all structural components and most auxiliary elements, making the installation process more efficient and reducing safety risk of on-site works operations.
