We were honoured that Study on Carbon Removal Potential of Trees in Hong Kong received Merit Award in the category of "Research & Planning Category" in Green Building Award 2025.
The Civil Engineering and Development Department, in collaboration with the consultant and universities, is studying performance of different tree species in carbon sequestration. The findings will provide additional reference information for the landscape design of New Development Area projects (NDAs) from perspectives other than ornamental value and ecological function so as to enable the improvement of carbon removal potential of urban greening, contributing to the achievement of carbon neutrality in NDAs.
