The Development of the Loop has earned recognition as the Runner-up for the NEC Martin Barnes Awards 2024 in the category of Recognising Project Excellence and Innovation. This award highlights engineering projects that embrace innovative construction techniques and materials to tackle environmental challenges. Civil Engineering and Development Department applied several advanced methods in the Development of the Loop project, enhancing construction quality and safety while significantly reducing construction time, including building an Ecological Area (EA) for creating land for development while conserving ecology; adopting revolutionary bridge construction method for enhancing site safety; embracing digitalisation technologies for ensuring project efficiency; and using new prestressing technology for achieving less maintenance.
