Contract No. YL/2020/02 under the Development of the Loop project received the Platinum Award for the HKIE Civil Division Civil Engineering Excellence Award 2024/2025, recognizing its outstanding achievements in civil engineering. The team has successfully adopted two innovative construction methods in constructing a vehicular bridge ST01 and a Direct Road Link viaduct. The world-first Full Span Deck Erection method enables erection of an entire bridge deck be completed in one night over busy Fanling/San Tin Highways. The 360° rotating Special Lifting Frame, first implementation in Hong Kong, overcomes severe site constraints due to existing railway viaduct and 24-hour cross boundary traffic to Huanggang Port. These innovative construction methods enables faster and safer construction, reduces carbon emissions and minimizes public disturbance, setting the best practice for future bridge construction. They also advance Hong Kong's aspiration to be one of the world's most livable cities.
