Study on Carbon Removal Potential of Trees for New Development Area was highly commended in the category of “Environmental Impact Award” in RICS Hong Kong Awards 2025

The Civil Engineering and Development Department, in collaboration with the consultant and universities, is studying performance of different tree species in carbon sequestration. The findings will provide additional reference information for the landscape design of New Development Area projects (NDAs) from perspectives other than ornamental value and ecological function so as to enable the improvement of carbon removal potential of urban greening, contributing to the achievement of carbon neutrality in NDAs.
