CEDD Summer Programme 2022

08/08/2022 - 26/09/2022

Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) collaborated with Yan Chai Hospital and Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Kowloon, to organise the "CEDD Summer Programme 2022" in August and September 2022. About 50 teachers and students from 10 secondary schools were invited to a series of study trips to CEDD's facilities and construction sites, including Tung Chung Community Liaison Centre and Promenade, the Cross Bay Link at Tsueng Kwan O which is under construction, Public Works Central Laboratory and the Cycle Track between Tsuen Wan and Tuen Mun – Advance Works, to let students have a better understanding of the services and contributions of CEDD to the society.

The programme was concluded with a graduation carnival on 26 September 2022, in which educational booths such as wave tank demonstration, smart fill management system demonstration, Tung Chung eco-shoreline display, Landscape Division's yard waste upcycling workshop, demonstration of robotic dog in geotechnical application, and a game about the Greening Master Plan were provided to enhance students' knowledge on our works.

At the ceremony, students shared their overall learning experiences with our Director and chairmen from the two collaborating organisations. Some students even expressed interest in studying civil engineering in the future, as they are inspired by the programme. They look forward to more similar activities in the future.
