Tung Chung New Town Extension – Reclamation and Advance Works - Winner of the UK New Engineering Contract “Contract Innovation Award” of the Year 2020

The Tung Chung East Reclamation project is one of the major initiatives of the Government's multi-pronged approach to increase land supply in the medium to long-term. It will provide new land of 130 hectares for building some 43,000 residential flats to accommodate a population of 126,000.
With strong New Engineering Contract (NEC) spirit of collaboration and mutual trust, and the innovative use and application of additional conditions of contract on cost savings design and dispute resolution advisor, the project team has not only achieved a remarkable milestone of completing the phase 1 reclamation in 27 months for building some 10,000 public housing units by Housing Department, but also been awarded the NEC Contract Innovation Award of the Year 2020 by the NEC Users' Group of the United Kingdom.
