Stratigraphy: Jurassic intrusive rocks with ages of approximately 164.6 ± 0.2 million years before present.
Distribution: The Tai Po Granodiorite is exposed in discontinuous outcrops across central and southern parts of Hong Kong with the largest outcrops in the central New Territories and on Tsing Yi.
Lithology: Porphyritic medium- and fine-grained granodiorite.
