Stratigraphy: Jurassic intrusive rocks with an age of approximately 146.4 ± 0.2 million years before present.

Distribution: The Needle Hill Granite forms an elliptical biotite monzogranite pluton on the northwestern side of the Shing Mun Valley and in northwestern Kowloon.

Lithology: Porphyritic fine-grained granite and equigranular medium-grained granite.
