Description : The works mainly comprise a) reclamation of the seabed by a non-dredged method at Tung Chung East (TCE) to form a total of about 130 hectares of land; b) construction of about 4.9 kilometres of seawalls with eco-shoreline, three drainage box culvert outfalls, three circulation drains and a seawater intake; c) construction of about a 470-metre long multi-cell drainage box culvert at TCE; d) provision of infrastructure for Tung Chung Area 58, including construction of a single two-lane road with a footpath of about 270 metres in length and the associated utility works; and e) associated environmental mitigation measures. The works are scheduled to commence in end 2017 and will take about 69 months to complete.

In case of a joint venture tenderer, at least one participant / shareholder is on the List of Approved Contractors for Public Works in Group C (confirmed) under Site Formation Category or Port Works Category and the total percentage participation of participant(s) / shareholder(s) who is / are contractor(s) included in the List of Approved Contractors for Public Works in Group C (confirmed) under Site Formation Category or Port Works Category is at least 40%.
(ii) the tenderer, or the participants / shareholders collectively in case of a joint venture tenderer, has undertaken at least one civil engineering construction contract involving reclamation works, in which a single area of reclamation not less than 5 hectares and associated seawall not less than 200 metres long have been completed, in or outside Hong Kong, within the past 20 years; and
(iii) the tenderer, or the participants / shareholders collectively in case of a joint venture tenderer, has undertaken at least one civil engineering construction contract involving marine Deep Cement Mixing (DCM) works, in which marine DCM works not less than 100,000 cubic metres in volume have been completed, in or outside Hong Kong, within the past 20 years.

c. The detailed requirements on the tenderer’s qualification and those for joint venture with participation of local and /or overseas contractors, if applicable, are stipulated in the tender documents.

d. Contractors not yet on the List of Approved Contractors for Public Works in Group C (confirmed) under Port Works Category or Site Formation Category may also submit a tender if they submit a request for participation together with a duly completed application for inclusion in the above-mentioned approved list / category(ies) by 28 July 2017 to Chief Engineer/Islands, Hong Kong Island and Islands Development Office, Civil Engineering and Development Department at 13/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong, meet the qualifications and conditions for participation, and the application for inclusion is duly approved on or before the tender closing date.
