Report Title : Review of the 20 August 2005 Landslide on Slope No. 11NW-D/C144 behind Nos. 12 and 14 Wylie Road, King's Park, (2013), 76 p.

Abstract

This report presents the findings of a review of a major landslide (Incident No. 005/08/0327) which occurred on slope No. 11NW-D/C144 behind Nos. 12 and 14 Wylie Road, King's Park on 20 August 2005. The landslide involved a failure volume of about 200 m3. The landslide debris was deposited on an access road at the slope toe, near the entrance to a carpark for a residential building. Some debris travelled along the access road and came to rest at Wylie Road. As a result of the incident, the access road was temporarily closed and no casualties were reported.

The key objectives of this review were to document the facts about the incident and to present relevant background information and pertinent site observations made under this review. The scope of the review does not include any ground investigation or detailed diagnosis of the causes of the incident. Recommendations for follow-up actions are presented separately.
