Brief Description of Project Scope:

  1. Formation and capping of a new sediment disposal facility to the East of Sha Chau
  2. On-site control of mud disposal activities
  3. Implementation of an Environmental Monitoring and Audit (EM&A) programme

Approved Project Estimate:

$770.9 million


Current Progress:

Four Contaminated Mud Pits (CMPs) were completed in mid 2013. The first CMP was filled up with contaminated mud and capping with uncontaminated mud was completed. The disposal of contaminated mud at the second CMP is in progress.
