With effect from 1 July 2006:

1. New opening hours of all general offices of the Civil Engineering and Development Department are: 8:30 am to 5:45 pm (with an one-hour lunch break) from Mondays to Fridays.

2. New service hours of the following public services are:

Note: (1) Comparing to the situation before 1 July 2006, service hours of the above services on Mondays to Fridays are extended.
  (2) We shall continue to receive applications for sand removal permits and dumping licences by fax, by post or by email on Saturdays, Sundays & Public Holidays.

3. Service hours of the following public services/facilities REMAIN UNCHANGED:

a) Receiving and processing the following licences/permits:

  • Mine Blasting Certificate
  • Removal Permit for Explosives, Ammunition and Fireworks
  • Mode A Explosives Store Licence
  • Mode B Explosives Store Licence
  • Blasting Licence and Permit
  • Licence to manufacture explosives
  • Endorsement of an import or export licence for explosives

b) All public fill reception facilities
c) All construction wastes sorting facilities
d) The Slope Information System (SIS) Terminals
