Tung Chung New Town Extension - Major Infrastructure Works in Tung Chung East received “Environmental, Health and Safety Award (Large Corporation) – Silver” and “Green Management Award - Project Management (Large Corporation) – Silver” under Hong Kong Green Awards 2022

The Civil Engineering and Development Department attached importance to environmental protection, safety and health management, actively minimize the impact on community and environment.
Tung Chung New Town Extension - The project team is committed to promoting sustainable development, such as adopting a district cooling system (DCS) to utilize seawater to produce and distribute chilled water from the central chiller plant to buildings through a closed loop network of underground pipes, reducing the consumption of electricity.
The contribution of the project team was fully recognized by the industry. We were honoured to awarded the Hong Kong Green Awards 2022 for "Environmental, Health and Safety Award (Large Corporation) – Silver" and "Green Management Award - Project Management (Large Corporation) – Silver".
